Portal quirks
- The official standard is the 35×45 mm print (ICAO); 413×531 px is its 300-DPI digital equivalent — per-country VFS portals set their own upload limits
- Most applications go through VFS Global, which runs its own photo checker on top of the ICAO rules
- Background must be plain and light-coloured — pure white is accepted in most states, patterns and shadows are not
